During large-scale natural disasters, KW Cares provides emergency disaster grants to qualified individuals to help with immediate, critical needs such as food, temporary shelter, lost clothing and personal care items, transportation, and other basic needs.
Emergency disaster grants can award up to $5,000 (amount based on the specific needs and circumstances of the household) to assist with immediate, critical needs:
Food
Temporary shelter
Lost clothing and personal care items
Transportation
Other basic needs
During a large-scale natural disaster, KW Cares will activate an online application that will be linked to this page. Eligible KW associates and KW Realty LLC employees impacted by the natural disaster who meet the eligibility criteria below, have a qualifying expense, and demonstrate financial need can apply.
To be eligible for a grant, applicants must meet all of the following criteria:
Have an “active” associate profile in KW White Pages or the Command Directory
Have been active with KW for the past six consecutive months
Have less than $60,000 in liquid assets (combined checking and savings account balances)
Applications must be submitted within 30 days of the disaster. Applications submitted after this period will be declined.
Important Note: Emergency disaster grants are not intended to assist with loss of income, home repairs, or insurance deductibles.
Unfortunately, we cannot make exceptions to these criteria without jeopardizing our nonprofit status.
Once you are confident you qualify for a KW Cares grant, you can apply by following the steps below:
Inform your Market Center or Keller Williams Realty LLC leadership of your need. KW Cares staff will verify your situation with your leadership, so this step must be completed before proceeding.
A KW Cares case manager will contact you by phone to conduct a brief intake interview. As part of the intake interview, KW Cares will need to verify your approximate checking and savings account balances. Please have an estimate of your bank balances ready for the case manager’s call.
Upon approval, KW Cares will initiate a bank transfer through BILL (www.bill.com). You will receive an email invitation to create an account and add your banking information. Follow the instructions in the email to set up your account in BILL.
