To Our KW Family

In my time at KW Cares, what’s impressed me most is the people. The people who come to us in times of need and then pay it forward as soon as they’re able, the people who support and advocate for us year after year, and the people who make up a community ready to jump into action any time there’s a need.

This year, our annual report shines a light on some of the special folks we’ve had the privilege to care for, and the amazing supporters who have cared for us. It’s our relationships with all these wonderful individuals that make “the culture of caring” a vibrant part of Keller Williams.

Some of the things I’m most proud of this year include:

  1. Our immediate response to the Greater LA Wildfires. The team swiftly responded and had the KW Cares truck filled with air purifiers, masks, and supplies as soon as we knew the gravity of the situation. And our staff processed Emergency Grant requests as fast as they came in, so everyone had the funds to evacuate safely.

  2. Awarding the second annual Kathy Neu Philanthropy Award. Kathy did so much for KW Cares and the KW Family, and it was a privilege to honor her legacy by recognizing long-time supporter Amethyst Albert. Amethyst has been with KW for 10 years, giving to KW Cares with every transaction she’s made. And when Hurricane Helene devastated communities in her home state of North Carolina, she personally organized a massive relief effort—collecting and distributing over $200,000 worth of food, clothing, toiletries, and other essential supplies. What an example of our culture of caring at work!

  3. Maintaining our status with Candid and Charity Navigator. For the fourth consecutive year, KW Cares earned the highest ratings in the nonprofit industry. When you donate to us, you can be certain your gift is being stewarded with the utmost care.

  4. Being awarded the Housing Wire Vanguard Award. In September, I was so surprised to hear I was being given this award! Though it’s my name on the plaque, this really celebrates our outstanding KW Cares team and all we have accomplished together.

Each day, I’m inspired by the drive and dedication of my small but mighty team, who work tirelessly to ensure no one is left behind. To our donors, Board of Directors, and every member of the KW Family—thank you for truly exemplifying our motto, “Family Helping Family.”

And finally, I’m endlessly grateful for the unwavering generosity that defines the KW culture—there is no other company in the world that cares for its own the way we do at Keller Williams! Together, we are creating a lasting impact.

Warmly,

Lexie Rodriguez

The Impact of Your Generosity

KW Cares grants provide much-needed assistance for Keller Williams associates and their families with financial hardship due to sudden emergencies such as: accidents, house fires, medical emergencies and unaffordable funeral and burial expenses. We also respond swiftly to natural disasters such as hurricanes, tornadoes. wildfires and floods, by providing funds for food, lodging, and transportation and by deploying  generators, water and other disaster relief supplies.

In addition, your generosity contributes to making the world a better place by allowing KW Cares to offer external grants, which we call tithes. Each year KW Cares strives to tithe to board selected nonprofits to further this endeavor.

Catastrophic Hardship

The majority of KW Cares grants are awarded to assist with the out of pocket expenses for catastrophic hardship events. Our team is available to serve KW associates and their dependent family members in times of need. Examples of events include:

  • Heart attack, stroke, cancer, emergency surgeries
  • Physical disability needs such as assistive technology, wheelchairs, wheelchair auto-transport and prosthetics
  • Expenses due to unexpected tragedies such as a house fire or natural disaster, including but not limited to: deductibles, structural damage and loss of contents

Emergency Events

We step in swiftly to help associates with sudden emergencies such as:

  • Natural disaster
  • Death of a dependent family member
  • Emergency medical travel
  • Domestic violence
  • Assistance with funeral expenses
