How to Apply for a KW Cares Grant

Step 1:  Does your need meet the criteria for a KW Cares grant?        

Meet with your Team Leader to discuss whether your request meets the criteria for a KW Cares grant.

 

Criteria for a KW Cares Grant

A Grant:
  • Would address a need of a Keller Williams family member, with financial hardship due to unexpected emergencies over which the potential recipient had no control and are not of a recurring nature.  
  • Would support a need too great for a Market Center to undertake alone.
  • Does not endeavor to assist with needs more appropriately funded by government agencies or other social institutions.
Step 2:   Regional Director Approval

If the request meets the criteria, a completely documented grant application signed by the Team Leader should be forwarded to the Regional Director for signature certifying the need and validity of the grant request. This includes the social value, feasibility and reasonability of the request.

Step 3:   Submitting an Application

Each application must be accompanied by a letter from either the Team Leader or the grant applicant. It must include the following points:

  • The associate's situation (physical, financial)
  • What has been done by the market center and others to assist the applicant
  • The amount needed tied to specific expenses
  • Amount requested from KW Cares
  • How the market center will continue to support the associate after a grant is made

Once the Regional Director validates the request by signing the grant application, can be faxed to KW Cares at (435) 514-2229 or e-mailed to kwcares@kw.com for consideration by the KW Cares Board of Directors.

Step 4:   Regional Follow-up

After a grant is made, the Team Leader should follow up with KW Cares and provide updates, including photographs, newspaper clippings, if applicable.
